Lying at the foot of one of Japan's holy volcanic mountains, the charming city of Kaga draws visitors with its onsens and lovely temples.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Sat): appreciate the views at Kakusenkei Gorge, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Natadera Temple, then examine the collection at Motorcar Museum of Japan, and finally indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: explore the world behind art at Kutaniyaki Art Museum, get engrossed in the history at Kyuya Fukada Yama no Bunkakan, then stroll through Kibagata Park, and finally engage your brain at Nakaya Ukichiro Museum of Snow and Ice.

Located in the heart of Noto Peninsula, Nanao offers tourists a laid-back getaway and scenic nature spots.
Visit Kita Family House and Nanao Castle Remains for their historical value. Explore hidden gems such as Musee de la Fleur, Fleuri and Notojima Aquarium. An old castle town largely unspoiled during World War II, Kanazawa features well-preserved architecture spread across a range of districts.
Shirayama Hime Shrine and Shofukaku Garden will appeal to history buffs. Museum-lovers will appreciate D. T. Suzuki Museum and Kanazawa Phonograph Museum. Take a break from Kanazawa with a short trip to Ishikawa Jumoku Park in Hakusan, about 30 minutes away. There's lots more to do: look for gifts at Amanatto Kawamura, tour the pleasant surroundings at Kanazawa Castle Park, steep yourself in history at Kinkengu Shrine, and go for a walk through Gyokusen-immaru Garden.
