Badlands National Park

Although Badlands National Park's name might not be the most inviting, its landscape of pinnacles, eroded buttes, spires, and an expansive, pristine mixed-grass prairie remain enticing.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Big Badlands Overlook and Badlands Wall. Take a break from the city and head to Yellow Mounds Overlook and Burns Basin Overlook. There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Fossil Exhibit Trail, explore and take pictures at Loop Road, and explore the striking landscape of Homestead Overlook.
