The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
You've added Nishiki Market Shopping District, Arashiyama, Sagano Romantic Train, and other attractions to your itinerary. Start off your visit on the 17th (Sun): take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, don't miss a visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and then take a stroll through Gion. Keep things going the next day: get interesting insight from Sagano Romantic Train, take a stroll through Arashiyama, and then contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine.

Take a train from Osaka to Kyoto in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In March, plan for daily highs up to 16°C, and evening lows to 5°C. You'll have a few hours on the 19th (Tue) to wrap things up before traveling to Takayama.

Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 20th (Wed) to allow time for travel to Suzu.
