Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Sut Ja-Tum), Pattaya

4.4
Visit Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Sut Ja-Tum), an atmospheric, intricately carved Buddhist temple. Started in 1981 and still under construction, the wooden place of worship features ornate images, reliefs, and statues. With an intensive attention to detail and a sensitive balancing of contemporary aesthetics and traditional architecture, there's plenty to appreciate about this work in progress--so don't let its completion date of 2050 put you off. • This monument is totally built from wood. Exelent carvings and in a very nice surroundings. The entrance fee was 500 bht which I thought was a bit expensive but if you are in Pattaya it is worth a vis...  more »

  • The architecture is very detailed. During my visit in November 2017, there was some place that can't be entered because the building maintenance. I think they really take care of their buildings. It has a very large area. Notes: use proper clothes. If you forget to wear proper clothes, there are crews that will let you to borrow their clothes with deposit of around 500-600 bath if I'm not mistaken, which you can take back after you finish the visit.
  • Absolutely beautiful! Pictures can't do it justice. The silence accompanied by the knocking of the workers gives you a nice sense of comfort. The smell of wood and the constant breeze makes this place feel like the center of all things. A real testament to the good nature in people. You owe it to yourself to see it at least once in your life.
  • This temple is amazing. Even with the many temples you will visit in Thailand, this one is like no other. This temple is 15 min from the Main Street of Pattaya. Spend a few hours here. Get your camera and phones ready. It’s so beautiful that you will finish with tons of photos. The temple is right by the ocean. Be aware that entrance fees are 500 baht per adult and 250 baht per kid under a certain height. The price is steep but worth it when visiting.I know it's still under construction and this will be still for some years all restoration is don by hand and not so quick to completed. But the place is a must if you only stay...
  • Amazing architecture. Nothing more than that. Entry fee 500 Baht. Transportation might be a problem. We rented a scooter and it was an easy reach. Go before it gets dark to get some amazing photographs. Adjacent to a water body. Definitely one time visit and not more than that.
  • This sanctuary is something else. It's quite different from the rest of the temples around it's fully made of wood and the location is really beautiful. There are elephants around and so many ornaments that you can spend hours enjoying the place. It's not free entrance but very inexpensive.
