  • This museum was donated by Rosengard, an art dealer, to the city. Lucerne is a local tourist city, but it's not big, but I didn't think there was such a great collection here. The first floor is all Picasso. It might be abnormal at the Picasso Museum from the amount of Picasso in his later years, including a large picture from the 1950s and 60s. At first, I thought it would be a special exhibition, but Picasso occupies about one-third of the first floor and the second floor in this collection. The others on the second floor are Chagall, Matisse, Impressionist Monet, Manet, Renoir and other famous places. The first basement floor was often a toilet or a locker, but the first basement floor was all clay works. It's good to go sightseeing, but if time permits, I think it's a must-see museum if you're interested in art.

  • The buillding was very nice but the art left me cold, not a fan of Picasso or modern art but appreciated the renovation of the national bank.  more »

  • The museum has three floors: ground, first, and basement. We were there for the Picasso paintings on the ground floor which we enjoyed very much. They also had a collection of Paul Klee in the basement which were amazing in their variety. The first floor has a collection of impressionist paintings by Renoir, Cezanne, Chagall in addition to photos of Picasso in his studio. Unfortunately the AC was out on the day of our visit which made the whole museum very warm. Another downside was that no photography was allowed. Overall it was a very nice museum with friendly staff and great collections!
  • Fantastic collection of Picasso and Klee art. I learned things I did not know about these two fantastic artists just from the pieces on display here. Unique looks into both men’s artistic lives. Highly recommend everyone visit this museum while in town.
