International Museum of the Red Cross was truly spectacular. It’s one of a kind. The receptionists warmly welcomed us. Then we had a good lunch inside. Afterwards we proceeded into the... more »
Rightly explained for when, how, where and why RED CROSS was set up. One can see very innovative souvenirs or gifts done by prisoners across the globe inside the exhibition hall. Videos about people discussing and explaining the crisis and troubles gone through in their homeland and speech on Climate change are an eye opening. Library containing details of people who participated during world war was astonishing. The old records and radio voice messages are still maintained.
The museum is fairly small, so I went through it in around an hour, although you could spend at least twice that by carefully reading everything. Eventhough small, they covered a lot of ground and used many different styles of presenting it, never becoming repetitive. Central to the museum was that they conveyed much information through individual accounts of their personal experience. It's a technique getting popular and that's something I appreciate. Also, don't miss their canteen on the top floor, with a big terrace, good food and cheap price for Geneva.
