  • On a day trip from Khartoum we could visit this southerly Meroe site and admire its well preserved carvings. A special atmoshere pervades.  more »

  • The impressive remains of a Temple of Amun in Naga - of times of Meroe Kingdom of Kushite civilization - sometime about I BC - I AC. The item of World Heritage in Sudan - under the serial site called Meroe Island. It is placed somewhere 30 km from Nile - in those times here it was wet savanna. One complex with good remains of another temple - a Temple of Apedemak (a god - lion), which are placed nearby.
