Built in the 13th century, the simple church of Saint Nicholas parish was refurbished in Gothic style in the 15th century, but it's the lavishly decorated interior--with Baroque ornaments and frescoes depicting the lives of St. Nicholas and St. Peter--that receives the most attention from the tourists. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the city center, far from the bustle of the central street, the church is accessible via a narrow passageway.     Architectural it is like most other churches but the big difference is the gorgeous barok paintings depicting catholic saints, angels and all that. Get the audio guide!
