  • This sanctuary is located in the calle Toledo de Rute, 100 metres from the Town Hall. He is accessible on foot and by car, since there is a good parking to leave the car to the side. No problem on that side. It has a façade of brick seen mostly with various tiles and plates. There are 3 bells in the belfry. The main door is wide and has a receiver with grating, where normally one prays. The interior of the temple is not accessible except in time of cults, which is specified on a bulletin board. It also contains two small doors on both sides of the hallway that leads to the shrine. By a trigger mechanism of lighting, the cost is 1 euro, can see the interior of the Temple from the gate: Baroque. Simple and not very large but elegant. Built in 1700 to house the image of the patron saint of Rute. A single nave, with banks. In the background, the main altarpiece and the central Chamber with the beautiful image of the Patron Saint, the Virgin of Carmen, whose cults held in July and August. On both sides of the same, smaller images of San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús, the order of Carmel reformers some years ago. Also found in the interior images of a baby Jesus and a Christ to cats, who can be better in one of the photos that I attached to this opinion. The temple has several large boxes attached to the side walls, as well as a choir. It also has two huge and pretty nice lamps, one in the presbytery (the larger one) and another in the Centre of the nave (somewhat smaller but much nicer for my taste than the previous). The brotherhood House is located beside the sanctuary. In short, a temple downtown, busy but very quiet, located in the Centre of Rute and full of art and history. Whenever I go to Rute by business issues or leisure (taking advantage of being in the middle) I approach here, because it gives me the peace and quiet I need to continue with the routine day to day. Totally recommended.
