The museum is sure to interest history buffs, with medieval ivories, fabrics, and codices, as well as a Visigothic Bible. • The only way to visit was with a guided tour. There is much to see in this Romanesque edifice, but the highlight were the well-preserved frescoes from the late 11th and early 12th centuries.  more »

  • Expecting the Basilica to be larger than the cathedral. No it smaller and more on the simpler side. There are nice side chapels. Also no charge to see and rest in contemplation for a while.
  • I attended the 7 PM "pilgrim service". The service of course was all in Spanish, but there no booklets to follow. The sermon was far too long, especially since a fair number of people didn't understand a word that he said. After the 40 minute service, he asked the pilgrims to come to the front (in Spanish ), but once we were there, he greeted and spoke to us in English. He handed out two leaflets, a prayer in Spanish and some history in our language of choice.
