  • The Torreón de los Guzmanes is home to the main offices of the Provincial Council of Avila. It is part of the Palace of the Guzmanes, one of the most beautiful noble houses in the city. It is declared a World Heritage Site. It was built in 1513. Inside the building, you can visit outbuildings such as the courtyard, blastonado and with gallery of arches. On the ground floor, the courtyard of Torreón de los Guzmanes has a gallery with lay stone arches and cornices on which are arranged rosettes and large shields. The columns lead to the upper floor, which is accessed through a door decorated with Gothic motifs leading to a monumental stone staircase of two sections. In the lower gallery of the courtyard there are temporary exhibitions organized by the Provincial Council of Avila, as well as in the Central Room of the tower, located in the old stables and basements of the palace, where you can also visit the exhibition permanent 'La Vetonia: Culture and Nature', dedicated to the world of castros and the racos and the first settlers of the Abulense territory. Built in granite seating and masonry, the Torreón de los Guzmanes is restored and has a very good state of conservation. It was declared a Good of Culture Interest in 1983
