Three kings played a role in the construction of Royal Palace of Aranjuez: Philip II, Ferdinand VI, and Charles II, all of whom are commemorated with statues at the site. Appreciate the building’s grand façade, then stroll through the interior, with its opulently decorated rooms. Portraits and information placards help you gain a deeper understanding of Spain’s royal history. The palace gardens are large, built to relieve royal residents from the dust and drought in this part of Spain. An onsite museum features a collection of Spain’s royal pleasure barges. Audio guides are available, but a guided tour grants you access to some additional areas. The Palace is very nice and the restored is beautiful. Very nice gardens and fountains. We took a train ride. Tour lasted 50 minutes and was worth it, especially for someone with trouble walking a lot.View original

An absolute surprise. My expectations from outside were low, not due to the size or impressive architecture, but due to a lack of knowledge about the significance of Aranjuez to the Spanish Royal Family. It seems the palace.qas well loved and used as a Spring time retreat and the details of the palace and decoration we gorgeous and impressive. No photos allowed so very I can't show you except for the entrance which only hints at what is inside.

Worth a visit. The building itself is quite impressive and a couple of the rooms are quite stunning. The garden is free to wandering around.
