The Walks of Peace, Kobarid

5.0

Along the Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic you will be first overwhelmed by the peace which has not always been so natural in these places. The course of history and the course of the Soča, which ranks among the most beautiful rivers in the world, are turbulent and unpredictable. A century after the total war which embraced the world we are connecting the historical heritage into the Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic. All from the Triglav National Park to the Adriatic Sea we are trying to calm down the rhythm of time and entice to rest and consideration – 100 years after the Isonzo Front, one of the most extensive warfare in the high mountains.

  • I'm telling you not to miss the infopoint blindly believe dispassionately, when describing the 2.5 h of walk in some places a bit faticosetta. Are shipped, with the exception of the 4:00 walk the Park at ossario (really awesome), and the Castle. We started from the Centre of Kobarid and the walk was fantastic, fresh and fragrant Woods. The last stretch before arriving to the wooden bridge, a bit challenging for someone like me, is afraid of heights. Good hiking shoes and water you need, but the effort is worth it. Highly recommended! The only really busy was from the wooden bridge to the waterfall, but otherwise it was a nice walk. Personally I'd advise against families with small children and older people if not already accustomed to rough paths and sometimes exhausting.

  • Although the circuit has only 5 km according to the description, so you should plan some hours stations however, due to the altitude and what to see. Interesting and scenically speaking circuit in the footsteps of the first world war.
