  • Grand Anse, as you would expect, is one of the longest beaches of Mahé and certainly the longest on the western coast. This bay is incredibly beautiful, with excellent sand and a beautiful turquoise ocean. The backdrop, in turn, consists of the imposing hilly landscape of Mahé, contrasting with the beautiful and flat beach below. The water here is suitable for swimming and surfing, although visitors should be careful, because the current under water can sometimes be quite strong and the water is relatively deep compared to other beaches of Seychelles. The beach itself offers plenty of space for relaxation, sunbathing, family games, walks along the sand and much more. The water, as mentioned, can be profound, but it is still suitable for confident swimmers and surfers. There are no coral reefs here, so the waves are usually great for the Seychelles standards. Grand Anse is also the location of the entrance to the Chemin la Misère, a path that leads to the other side of the island, as well as the BBC Indian Ocean Relay Station. All in all, as you can imagine, Grand Anse is a large and imposing beach with lots of beauty and charm. As the longest and most open beach on the west coast of Mahé, it differs from other beaches in the region, giving it a different appeal to attract visitors. Highlights: The striking contrast between the sand and the sea of Grand Anse and the mountains and hills around the interior of the island provide a unique and attractive location in Mahé. Facts: 1335m x 30m-not too busy relatively deep water-some algae from June to September normal tide-high waves long and extensive beach on the West coast of Mahé good for swimming and surfing

  • Grand Anse is one of the longest beaches on the island, undoubtedly the longest on the West coast. The white sand and turquoise sea form a fantastic contrast to the nearby mountains of Morne Seychellois National Park, making Grand Anse a truly spectacular place. Water deep enough, you can swim (carefully) and surf. Nearby you can find restaurants and various other activities. Despite its beauty, it is not particularly frequented.
