Moyenne Island, Mahe Island

#3 of 13 in Nature in Seychelles
Ride a giant tortoise and swim in the waters around Moyenne Island, a forested wildlife reserve in Sainte Anne Marine National Park. A former private island owned by a British newspaper magnate, the island is home to some 120 giant tortoises brought and bred by the owners. A total of 4.8 km (3 mi) of trails provide scenic hikes, and there is a restaurant catering to tourists who come by boat. The island provides good snorkeling opportunities, and you can see some sharks and rays.
