Learn about the Serbian-American scientist who contributed to creating modern-day electricity at Nikola Tesla Museum, which presents inventions, documents, and photographs about his life and work. Popularly known as the mad scientist, Tesla produced contraptions during the 19th and 20th centuries that are too advanced to be powered even today. Visit this museum to see the world's largest collection on his life and work. A guided tour (available in English) will present some of his inventions, including a wireless boat and the Tesla coil. You'll also learn about Tesla's cooperation with the United States' corporate giants. Browse through thousands of related photographs, written records, and drawings that depict Tesla's carrier. Check the website for tour times, as a guided tour may be the only way to visit the museum. Nikola Tesla Museum Reviews
Amazing experience, is so impressive what Nikola Tesla has in his mind so many years ago , staff is polite and funny they give tour in English as well more »
Nikola Tesla was a fascinating inventor. This museum is home to a number of Tesla's inventions and a long list of patents (and, his urn!). The tour includes several 'live' exhibitions of electrical... more »
It is a very small museum. If you want to have an English guided tour, you need to pay 500 dinars per person. They start with an introduction video about Tesla which takes nearly 15 minutes. The volume is too high for the small room. Then, they introduce some of Tesla's patents with the help of experiments. It is very informative, but the museum is very small and there is nothing else. You may want to visit if you have time.
Make sure you catch the guided tour at the top of each hour - you’ll watch a video about Nikola Tesla and then see a few neat demonstrations. I had to line up for about 45 minutes to get into the museum, and be aware that they only take local currency (no euros and no cards). Overall, I liked the museum but found it to be really crowded - in the future they might need to start taking online reservations.
