  • During the three days of staying at the Singita Volcanoes lodge we were able to make two tracks to watch gorillas, visit the twin lakes and make another Track easier to see the Golden Monkeys. The experience can only be rated fabulous. Everything turned out beyond our expectations. Guides, trakkers, park staff are very professional. If what is intended is an exclusive experience (maximum 8 people per track), be able to choose the level of route to reach the gorillas (easy, easy to medium, medium to long....) Rwanda Volcanoes Park is your destination.

  • Wow. This is not a place for the out of shape. Our "medium" difficulty hike in Rwanda to our assigned gorilla family took 1.5 hours to drive to, then 1.5 hours to hike up to where they were. This was a 1.5 mile hike through rain forest with 1100 foot vertical ascent. The trail was 12 inches wide. One hour with the gorillas. Your limit to them is 7 meters (21 feet). We got way closer than that because they come to you, like 5 feet. Where else can you go and be safe to see some animals that share 98% of their DNA with us. They are very intelligent. Your other choices are Uganda or the DRC (Ebola......). Rwanda feels super safe.
  • This refuge for the small Population of mountain gorillas is a special gem in Rwanda that must be experienced. The dedication of Rwandans to protecting and sharing an experience with their gorilla population is a gift to the world. Hikes range from strenuous to easy to see the various families of gorillas, and the guides and Porters are so nice and knowledgeable that anyone can make the trip of a lifetime. Visit this park if at all possible. You will have the experience of a lifetime and contribute to the protection of a unique species and support the wonderful people of a wonderful Country.
