Initially a dense forest, became a fortress larger than the one in Moscow within four weeks of building. Over time, it grew into a wealthy merchant town, which eventually morphed into a sophisticated Orthodox spiritual center with 10,000 residents. Its growth lasted from 1551 until 1932, when the city slowly diminished. Today it is nearly an abandoned village. You can stroll along its medieval streets and see former homes of the less fortunate. In contrast, you'll observe eclectic mansions that belonged to wealthy merchants. You can tour 16th-century monasteries, ride a horse, and try your hand at archery. Arrive at the site by train, taxi, or ferry. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Sviyazhsk by using our Sviyazhsk tour planner.

  • I didn't even know there was this place. Accidentally included in the plan when he ordered excursions to Kazan. I didn't regret it. Visited with an individual tour guide by car. Very interesting place, but if we went yourself, you would not understand) Recommendations: on your car, tour guide, allocate to this place almost all day.

  • Was on the island during the holiday "UHI." The people were in darkness, everyone was given soup for free, the queues for souvenirs and other goodies were miles away. I love this island, for its beauty, naturalness, for products, fresh bread and khachapuri, behind which you stand at least 30 minutes. On this Sunday there were about a lot of people in connection with the holiday, but I still found a place of silence and strength Went with my mother, many visitors were with children. It is best to be patient if you are on the car, as at the time of events the parking lot will be overcrowded, and if there are no information guides, then it is quite comfortable. You can also drive on the water, never visited, but I think it will be useful to know. The entrance to us on this day was free, the order of prices for bread and khachapuri from 100-300 p. View of Uslon is gorgeous, for this and worth going! Sviazhsk
