"Popa" Museum, founded in the 60s by popular artist Neculai Popa, is one of the oldest and largest private museums in Romania. Initiative to establish the museum came from a desire to preserve some of the material wealth of traditional Romanian village. Initial ethnographic collection will be enriched by new collections in 70s - 80s (archeology, numismatics, religious art, naïve art) so far are collected over 3,500 items, plus the creations of Neculai Popa (naïve sculpture in wood and stone, costumes and masks for winter performances).

  The museum already begins to enchant at the entrance with its carved gate, the variety of the collection is impressive. The collection has since masks, clothes typical of the various regions of Romania, Arte Naïf and also archaeological objects. It is a fascinating place where it is possible to spend several hours observing and admiring all the details.
