  • Cost: 45 she, 10 euros. Duration: approximately 45 minutes. Media: metro blue, 5 minute walk and stop aviatorilor, the villa is situated in a very nice residential neighborhood full of houses and modern houses. Everything remained perfectly equal in December 1989. Amazing how a leader dictator, with ideas of egalitarian social stratification (the only exception was here), lived in this way. The House is cured in every detail, from the movie room to the pool (!). Each family member had their own apartment, except the leader who had the apartment shared with his wife. There are also clothes that survived the revolution day. The villa is big 3600 sqm.

  • Ceausescu Palace is öky, but interesting. In the present, even their clothes. Downstairs in the "fitness and health" are quite interesting. Peacocks in the yard.

  • A beautiful palace, it is rather small but a must see for everyone who visits the city. We were blessed with a very good tour guide who explained everything very nicely. The history of the place is mind blowing while the architecture of the palace and how it was designed is unbelievable. MUST SEE!
  • Very cool collection of gold in the national treasure make an average museum very worth the trip. They have other interesting exhibits too. Nice people & security staff was helpful to me.
  • A must visit. The house of Ceaușescu is amazing and one of the best museums in Romania. If you have time also visit the people's palace. The two combined will give you a great feel of the ruling class of the communist regime.
  • Amazing tour! Well mantained palace - former residence of Ceaușescu - beautiful rooms and a very good tour guide, Tudor that was able to keep our attention for the one hour tour with lots of interesting facts. The guided tour costs 45 RON and can be booked in advance. Highly recommended!
  • The most interesting and pleasant museum in Bucharest. I warmly recommend it! You will understand better the Communist period.

Where to stay in Bucharest

To take advantage of Bucharest's lively downtown, look for accommodations in the areas of Universitatii square, Unirii, Romana, or Victoriei to be closest to bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as many of the major sights. Choose from a variety of hostels and budget hotels, or book a night at one of the mid-range or luxury hotels. If you decide to venture farther out of the city, look for lodging close to public transportation to avoid the city's notoriously bad traffic.
