Get a glimpse into military history at Al-Zubara Fort, part of a World Heritage Site that includes a Gulf merchant town. Within the town's ruins, the fort has stood since 1938 when Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani built it as a Coast Guard station. Now a museum, the space shows the architectural techniques of Qatar alongside artworks and archeological exhibits. Visit the still impenetrable fort and take shelter from the sun under the roof where soldiers would gather to patrol the coast. Take a peek into their lives by exploring the fort on your own. Put Al-Zubara Fort on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Madinat Ash Shamal trip itinerary planner.

Al-Zubara Fort Reviews
近くで出土した真珠の採取・交易にまつわる品に関する小規模な展示スペースが併設されていますが、もともと特に興味があったとい... more »Only the forts that accompanied the city, which were trade hubs around the 18th century, remain. The remains of the ruins in the nearby desert seem to be buried, but there are not many things tourists can see. The fort itself is very small, and it takes about enough to look around, except for the time you spend reading the explanatory version (in English). There is a small exhibition space for collecting and trading pearls excavated nearby, but i think it's not something that attracts you so much unless you were originally interested. I don't think i'll recommend it to people. If you want to spend a whole day in transit, or if you want to increase the world heritage you visited, please.
