Museu Calouste Gulbenkian
Marvel at the extraordinary range of artworks on display at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian. Formed from the private collection of Ottoman-born oil magnate Calouste Gulbenkian (of which only about one-sixth remains on permanent exhibition), the museum houses treasures spanning East and West and including Egyptian relics, Chinese porcelain, Western masterpieces, and everything in between. After browsing the galleries of paintings, jewelry, furniture, sculptures, and more, take a stroll in the landscaped park in which the museum resides. Put Museu Calouste Gulbenkian at the forefront of your travel plans using our Lisbon travel route planner.

A very intriguing, wide range of artworks from Egyptian dynasties to contemporary art from around the world. The pieces are as interesting as the man who has collected them. Strongly recommend that you pay a little visit there if you are in Lisbon for a few days. Also the museum Cafe is great as well.

Very well presented and interesting works in the original collection - all in superb buildings. The modern art exhibition was much less interesting. Friendly staff. At the time we visited (January) not at all crowded. Easy to get to via metro.
