Wieliczka Salt Mine Reviews
Fascinating tour and very interesting. However staff are extremely rude and do not communicate or listen to you. Just shout demands at you. I visited with my grandad, I asked for the lift down for him... more »
Interesting afternoon out, some of the chambers are amazing. But shops and eateries down there put me off a bit. The driver who took us was exellent. more »
A great experience. I visited the mine as an individual tourist, without prior reservation. Therefore, I was prepared for a lot of waiting, but I managed to get the ticket and enter in about 30 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. The organization process seems to function very efficiently. It's also useful to know there is a restaurant within the mine, so you don't have to carry food and drinks on your own.
There are 2 routes to choose from: tourist or miner's route. I went for the tourist route. There will be English, Polish, German, French, Russian speaking tour guides. Entire route took about 2 hours (mostly walking). There are several sculptures along the route and the chapel is magnificent. Good place to go if you love mines and have a couple of hours to kill.
