  • Orthodox Church of St. George Michał Archangel in Zagórzu is located in Stary Zagórz District. It belongs to the parish of St. Trinity in Sanok. Initially, it was a Greek-green, and after World War II became an Orthodox church. Inside there is a historic iconostas. The church was primed renovated in the 20TH century, its stone-wood construction today presents itself very beautifully. The present Orthodox Church was built on the initiative and foundation of Erazma Łobaczewski in 1836, probably on the site of the earlier, mentioned in 1761, the custody of the church was later the local heir of Francis Truskolaski. In 1926, the church was thoroughly renewed, the renovation was subjected to Dome of the Tower. From 1928 until the outbreak of World War II, the guardian of the Orthodox Church was Baron Adam Gubrynowicz. From the end of the war to 1956, the church became unoccupied, after which he was transferred to the Orthodox parish and functioned as a Filial Orthodox church. The church is located in the central part of the village, on the main road of the city. On XP, current UL. Piłsudski., in the flat, front facing in the direction of the PN-Zach. The church was built on the plan of a rectangle, culminated in a semi-circular, flattened apse, distinguished in the interior of the backstage pilasters, from Mon. With rectangular sacristy and from Wsch. Small rectangular Atrivatran. The compact, rectangular body is covered by a gable roof with a turret for a turret with a onion helmet, passing into the spherical over the apse, a low sacristy is a three-tiered roof. The dominant of the solid is the predecessor of the Tower of the temple, consisting of a rectangular, rather massive part of the lower end of the tent roof, which is planted with a smaller one, which is the basis for the culmination in the form of a onion helmet. The church was brick of the field stone, with a small proportion of bricks, the upper part of the tower made of wood in a pillar-framework structure. The façades of the body are devoid of architectural decoration, unplastered, with Windows finished with a semicocap, culminated with the roof cornice. The front façade is single-axis, symmetrical, with the entrance accented with a simple, culminated with a section arch, a border.

  • The temple is beautiful, but does not work, because it is on restoration. (as we have learned - belongs to the Orthodox, not the Uniates, as most churches in the area, but this is not accurate information).
