Erected during the 1600s, Catedral Virgen de Caacupe is dedicated to the country's patrol saint, the Virgin of Caacupe. Inside, light pierces stained glass windows, paintings depict the lives of local villagers, and an image of crucified Jesus Christ is located in the central of three apses.
