Beautiful! My girlfriend and I had booked a Glow Worm tour. However, as there were thunderstorms that day, the tour was cancelled. Matt, however, had offered us the tour right for the day after. Said done. Matt had picked us up at our accommodation and we drove a total of six to the lake in a small group. There were a few instructions from Matt in advance. We were absolute beginners as we have never been on a paddleboard. However, it worked out right away. We didn't get cold due to the life jacket and the wetsuits. We paddled across the lake to a small ledge. We jumped into the water and climbed up at the side of this little cliff. From this we jumped into the deep water. Matt also took pictures and videos of us doing so. After that, when it was dark, we finally went to the cave with the "fireflies" We laid on our backs and Matt pushed us into the cave. It was incredible! It's gorgeous to have experienced something like this live. You can't imagine what nature has to offer. We were also able to take pictures and videos (one reason we decided against Waitomo-that's not possible there) Matt was a super tour guide. He's very sympathetic and you get into conversation with him quickly. Highly recommended!
