New Zealand's only open-range zoo, Orana Wildlife Park allows you to get up close and personal with animals from all over the world. The diverse complex spans 80 hectares (198 acres) and provides a home to over 400 animals, including a number of rare and endangered species. When you arrive, check the presentation and feeding schedule for the opportunity to see meerkats, giraffes, and lions enjoying a meal. Get involved in the feeding process yourself by purchasing an "encounter experience." Guided tours take place daily and are offered both on board the safari shuttle and on foot.     1st time back in a few years. Found the adult price of 36.50 was a tad high for what you got to see. A number of empty sanctuaries and overall condition was disappointing. Have walked around the...  more »

    Not sure if we went at a bad time but a few exhibits were lacking in animals. And the lack of signage could be confusing for some trying to navigate the park.  more »

    Would be worth buying season pass just for a regular great place to picnic. Carpark full but so roomy never felt busy in park. Lots of great animals but our favourites were the peacock, trout and friendly (hungry) duck. Such fun!

    Great place for a date or family activities. Good for those wanting to get away from urban life for the day. There's plenty for kids to do. Even have open areas for a picnic :)
