  • Quite a tough climb with an elevation gain of about 1100m, Gradient is pretty steep. Good views. Good Photo opportunities. Can be done in half a day by those who are moderately fit. Took it easy and spent 1 hour at the summit admiring the Keas.
  • Important: be well informed about the weather conditions (visitor center will help out). Follow their advises. Even if the sky is blue, weather may change quickly and heavy winds have the potential to make it dangerous. Better start earliest possible. From my point of view doable for intermediates, even though it s a hard workout. Took me about 5 hrs, avg duration longer. Take care on your way down. Guess that s when most injuries happen. You might see keas, but keep distance. The views are breathtaking. Take you time on the top, as it s certainly a unique experience. I wish I was there at the moment !
