Listed as the country's first World Heritage Site, Twyfelfontein contains peculiar rock engravings, petroglyphs, and paintings. Inhabited for more than 6,000 years, the site provided a home for hunter-gatherer tribes that probably conducted shamanistic rituals at this location--their imagery and pictograms remain scattered about.
