Collected by the Zacatecan artist Rafael Coronel, the pieces are housed in the ruins of the 16th-century Ex-Convento de San Francisco. The building features high beige stone walls and displays elegantly decorated courtyards throughout its interior. Inside, observe more than 16,000 art pieces, including masks, drawings, pots, puppets, musical instruments, and colonial furniture. His collection of masks as "The Face of Mexico" stands as the main exhibit and is considered the largest in the world.   • This is a truly unique place. Built in what remains of an antique convent, you can explore a wide collection of masks, used in rituals, dances and traditions from different times and from all over.....  more »
  • Very interesting collection, but as I said be prepared to change through several galaxies. They mixed so many different things it was hard to enjoy more. You start with some Nepal and far east items.....  more »
  • Love seeing to old structures in Mexico. Such a rich history.
  • The mask collection is amazing, they come from different regions of Mexico. You can use YouTube to find samples of the dances these masks aree used on. The gardens are a must to visit here.
