Considered the last big Mayan civilization before the arrival of the Spanish, Mayapan Mayan Ruins remains relatively unvisited. There are over 4,000 structures to view practically on your own within the surrounding 9 km (5.5 mi) stone wall. The site does not have any restrictions, so you can photograph the ancient dwellings to your heart’s desire. Be sure to walk through the ceremonial center where temples, halls, shrines, platforms, and altars can be found, or take the time to climb to the top of the pyramid and view the site from above.   Ce site méconnu vaut vraiment le détour. Très bien entretenu, on peut accéder à tout les édifices. Bonnes explications. Il y a peu de monde ce qui rend le lieu reposant. À faire.  more »

  This little-known site is definitely worth a visit. Very well maintained, you can access all the buildings. Good explanations. There are few people what makes the place relaxing. It's a must.-
