You can see lizards and turtles and some birds (very few).3 bats are also in captivity. vegetation is very present. The information given during the visit is interesting and explains well the evolution of vegetation and animals on the island. What I did not appreciate at all like other members of our group (group of 17 people anyway) is to make the visit at the pace of race because the timing is the timing! 1:30 no more! Because just behind another group and we weren't supposed to cross paths. Crossing the lagoon, visiting the island and passing through the shop and including toilets. There is no toilet on the main island at the reception level and the person had told me you can go to the island there are. When I arrived on the island I had to wait until the end of the visit. Again, it's about timing. It is not easy to follow the experienced and very fast pace of the guide in the rocky paths sometimes narrow and barred by vegetation. With a guide who reminded us very regularly to hurry up and at the same time look in the trees. Both at the same time impossible. One person even fell during the visit and damaged his leg and yet he had walking shoes like the rest of the group. What is very strange is that we came across another group of 3 people who were wearing beach flip flops... We wanted to discover the vegetation and the animals, to take pictures ... This was marred by an authoritarian and far too pressing visit. What a pity...

The Mauritian Wildlife have done incredible work. When they started in the 1990's there were only 6 pink pigeons left and that in captivity, they have managed to breed enough to now see them in the wild.
