Sapi Island, Kota Kinabalu

#2 of 18 in Parks in Kota Kinabalu
Island · Nature / Park
Enjoy a day on Sapi Island, one of five islands in a protected marine park off the coast of Borneo. Just a 20-minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu, the island offers clean, white sands and clear waters. The main attraction here remains the wildlife: hike inland to see big monitor lizards and wild boars, and snorkel through the water to admire the coral and colorful fish in a diverse marine environment. Try out a range of activities, including island-to-island zipline and banana boating, and then relax in one of the restaurants. A visit to Sapi Island represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Kota Kinabalu travel planner to plot your vacation.

  • the island is a bit small meaning not so much beach for you to go to yet you still can enjoy your sunbathing or snorkeling  more »
  • We were staying in KK and easily got a boat transfer from the Jessington point to Sapi Island. We chose to just go here instead of doing more than 1 island. It cost around 24 MYR each for the return.....  more »
  • even tho the island is smaller than the others but enjoyable. even the toilet is much better now for visitors to use !
  • My second time to this beautiful beach with clear blue color sea water! Love it. Too bad there were some jellyfish swimming together with you, otherwise it really is paradise. Toilets here are well maintain with shower area too
