  • We stayed 2 nights within the national park. A very comfortable cabin for 2 people, spacious, and the bathroom too, Very clean and with a small terrace. Breakfast is included and could be contained in Malay or Malay. Although in terms of the prices of the country, it is somewhat high, I would repeat without any doubt

  • The Mulu Caves are easier reached by Air using a Twin Otter plane from Miri and will take approximately one hour, though river transport which is very adventurous to some may be used but will take approximately 10-12 hours. Is a great place to visit, to go into the thick jungles and visit some of the greatest, most historical and beautiful caves in the World. I was lucky to have been there on 6 occasions, covering the Deer Caves(Abraham Lincoln's profile), Lang's Cave(Emperor's Chamber), Clear Water Cave, Moon Milk Cave and ect. which are not opened to the General Public yet.You can find gigantic trees as well as Giant Ferns and Wild Jungle Yam which are taller than human beings. A local guide/porter must be engaged/hired to bring or guide you through the caves as one can easily get lost along the many different paths along the way or lost inside the caves. Every explorer must register and purchase your entrance tickets as well as your Guide's and Potter's fees at the Park's Headquarters. Good walking shoes are a must, cause some of the paths leading to the caves are very wet and slippery. Bring along biscuits and drinks which you may take only at the entrance of the Great Caves. Torch lights and spare batteries are also very important as most of the caves are very dark. Do not forget to bring along your SLR camers. It is prohibited to eat inside the caves as the food particles may destroy the stalactites and stalagmites formation which have taken hundreds and even millions of years to form. For your accommodation you may stay at the Royal Mulu Resort or make your bookings through the Park Headquarters. One Golden Rule at the Mulu Caves are "TAKE NOTHING BUT PHOTOS AND LEAVE NOTHING BUT FOOTPRINTS".
