Visit the workshops of Yachimun no Sato, a community of craftspeople making kiln-fired pottery and glasswork. Strolling through the quaint purpose-made village--relocated here when smoke from the kilns became too disruptive in the main town--you'll see the local artisans at work, with many workshops and studios open to visitors. Admire the different stages of the artistic process as you move between the studios, with one potter spinning, another firing, and yet another painting or glazing. Visit the onsite store, where cups, saucers, bottles, vases, and ornaments offer a wealth of souvenir and gift ideas. Our Yomitan-son online travel planner makes visiting Yachimun no Sato and other Yomitan-son attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • There are nearly 20 kilns. However, i'm a little uneasy whether i'm doing it or not. However, there were some people who were quite curious.

  • We drove from Cape Zanba and came to the village of Muchin, where a small workshop gathered. There is a parking lot, and it is good to park the car here and to walk slowly. Some of the workshops showed signs that refused to visit, but there were some shops selling pottery in front of some of the workshops.
