Kimiidera Temple, Wakayama

4.1
Climb 231 steps to the panoramic vista that awaits at Kimiidera Temple. Founded in the eighth century by a Chinese priest named Iko, the site served as a training facility for over 500 monks at a time during the Kamakura period. Among the visually impressive, red lacquered structures in the complex, you can see the temple's main deity, Kannon (the goddess of mercy), through a circular window. The site is also famous for its early-flowering cherry blossoms, around 500 of them, which bloom in the spring and make for an excellent photo opportunity. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Wakayama holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Kimiidera Temple and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • I visited on a bus tour. The stairs are tight. There are several small halls on both sides of the stairs, but while you're climbing, you can't see them desperately. It's a bus tour, so i'll work with my sweat wiped out, and see where I want to see it. So it's not all right. Also, i would like to visit and see kannon-sama, japan's largest gold-shining buddha as a wooden buddha. A colorful rope descends from kannon-sama's hand to the bottom, and it holds the rope and receives the edge with Kannon-sama. Next time I visit, I want to go to my own way. On the way down the stairs, i received a red seal (scribbled) of the song of the song of the song of the wave steadfastness and the clean water on the right side.

  • It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Kimitsuiji Station. It is comparatively close from the station, but by the time we get to the precincts, the stone steps with the name of the marriage evil removal slope, the woman evil expulsion slope, the man evil expulsion slope, and the sixtieth birthday evil expulsion slope are continued. It was very hard. On the way, there is Mitsui Mizu, which became the etymology of the temple, and there are many dou. The tower gate, the multi-treasure tower, and the bell tower were red-painted, and it was very beautiful to shine in fresh green. I thought that the season of the fresh green was good though it was a cherry blossom temple. There are many dou in the precincts, but there is also a difference in height, and it was quite difficult. From the precincts, you can see the japanese poem ura well. Admission is cheap, but over 70 years old was half price. The main son of this place is Sente Kannon, which is said to save the people of the world.

  • Totally good and authentic. Climb to the top. Enjoy the view. Established in about 770 meaning 1200 years of history right here in one place. One of the largest wooden statues in Japan
  • Easy to reach there by train. The view from the top was very good. Next time I would like to try 名水コーヒー because it sounds so nice!
