  • It is a visit by car. Free parking is available at usuki city tourist exchange plaza. There is no charge for entering the castle. It is the castle of Mr. Otomo. The castle ruins, which used to be an island, are huge and impresario. I hold a large space where the people were concealed in the castle against the invasion of Mr. Shimazu. It is a wonderful castle ruins to understand the defensive power of the iron wall even now.

  • This castle was built by Otomo Munenori, famous for the Christian Daimyo. At that time, it was called Tanyujima Castle, and at that time it was an island floating in Usuki Bay called Nyushima. The Tanujima Castle, an island at the mouth of the Usuki River, is surrounded by the sea, and it is a natural hazard that land appears on the west side at low tide. It is a stronghold that survived even when the entire island was castleized, and the cannon "Franci gun" which was called "National Ruin" obtained from Portugal was installed, and it was surrounded by Mr. Shimazu of the strongest in Kyushu. At present, the surroundings are reclaimed, and it is not a scenery of the castle surrounded by the sea, but the atmosphere which was an island remains, and there is a honmaru and two circles on the cliff. It is said that there used to be a three-fold tower and a tower, but it has been demolished, leaving the two-round tatami tower and the Utoraguchi gate side tower of Honmaru. The rest is about ishigaki, i can see some empty moat. There are not so many remains as the remains of the castle, but there are also Inaba Shrine, Usuki Gokoku Shrine, Utora Inari Shrine, Otomo Munenori Monument, And Franchi Gun, etc., so it was quite fun to see.
