Tama River, Tokyo Prefecture

4.1
The Tama River is a major river in Yamanashi, Kanagawa and Tokyo Prefectures on Honshū, Japan. It is officially classified as a Class 1 river by the Japanese government. Its total length is 138km, and the total of the river's basin area spans 1,240km2.
The river flows through Tokyo, on the dividing line between Tokyo and Kanagawa. In the city, its banks are lined with parks and sports fields, making the river a popular picnic spot.
The Tama’s source is located at Mt. Kasadori in Koshu in Yamanashi Prefecture. From there, it flows eastward into mountainous western Tokyo, where the Ogōchi Dam forms Lake Okutama. Below the dam, it takes the name Tama and flows eastwards through Chichibu Tama Kai National Park towards Ōme, Tokyo. It then flows southeast between Tama Hills and Musashino Terrace. At Hamura is the source of the historic Tamagawa Aqueduct built by the Tamagawa brothers in 1653 to supply water to Edo (present day Tokyo). Further downstream, the river forms the boundary between Tokyo and the city of Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture. Its mouth on the heavily industrialised Tokyo Bay is next to Haneda Airport.

  • Presumably the 183 kilometre shades of mountains located on the border of Yamanashi and Saitama prefectures (1953 m) without OTA-Ku, Tokyo and Kawasaki-Shi, Kanagawa Prefecture as the head of a river and flows into Tokyo Bay. Feel the nature in the big cities, such as through many metropolitan areas, birds seen in the vicinity of this precious place. Area I also look great in a luxury residential area. To learn more about Tama River, in 2 months babble consulate (noborito STA. of JR Nambu line and Odakyu approximately 15 minutes ' walk) to would go. History reveals everything from geography and biology.

Interesting because different and now flows downstream are Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures, according to the map there is a gap. Stray seals in 2002, "Tama-Chan" and was also named. Many types of fish, so catch Ayu in Chofu, Fuchu area.
