Art and architecture enthusiasts should not miss the chance to visit The National Art Center, Tokyo. The center, opened in 2007, is noted for being an empty museum, meaning it doesn’t feature a permanent collection. • Low sunlight brightens atrium of three stories height. One of the guys who is intrigued by the thoughtful people comes in with a frustrated expression and carefully presses the shutter. The outfit does not reveal the architect (or student), but you can read from the picture of the relationship between buildings and people. The National Art Center is composed of masses of large scale cone and reverse cone and wraps around with a wavy glass facade. Behind the building you can see that Aoyama Park is connected to the natural context. I was wondering if the horizontal pair-glass of the facade had affected Apple's new building.
  • Great piece of architecture. Nice light all day long. Plenty of space to have peaceful rest and enjoy quite ok coffee.
