  • I'm disappointed when I go expect it because I'm exposed in the media. There seemto be two routes by bus from JR Otaru Station, but the Yuzu line which i went without understanding took more than 30 minutes. The eye-catching animal show is on a hill, so it's going down a steep hill that seems to roll to the beach. The weather was like an unseasonable midsummer weather, so it was sweaty. Performances while moving in turn with walrus shows, sea lion shows, penguin shows, todo shows. And the dolphin show is dolphin pool. Wait a while, and i thought it started gradually, not dolphin, but fur seal. It ends in a short time, too, and the dolphin gradually. For those who are accustomed to seeing kamogawa and Hakkeijima, it is small and the contents of the ordinary. We quickly went around the aquarium and ran into the return bus, which had only one bottle in 30 minutes.

  • Variety of sea creatures and activities. Good for family and kids. Not many choices of food in the park but hot ramen helps when it's rained and cold.  more »

  • Lots to see, didn't disappoint although small. View was spectacular in winter as the aquarium was on a ledge. Penguin walks were cute and the dolphins, sea lion were amazing. There's a restaurant too inside , although wish there were more variety of foods to choose from. Nevertheless recommended. Btw....its easy access too by bus
  • The aquarium is on the small side, but has an impressive group of critters & lots of opportunity to see them up close, including a sea lion & dolphin training session, an outdoor penguin march, & a pelican walk through the exhibits. We went in February during a snowstorm, which was perfect for the penguin march. The little guys were plopping down in big fresh piles of snow & sliding. The facilities are a little dated, but well maintained. They don’t heat the building, so dress accordingly. There a heat lamps around the building for patrons to warm up. Google maps said there wasn’t public transport, but there is a bus from Otaru Station to the aquarium for 220 jyp.
