Cape Maeda, Onna-son

4.3
Get to know the inhabitants of a protected marine environment at Cape Maeda, a popular snorkeling and diving site rich in aquatic life and interesting rock formations. Head deep down into the underwater, wave-eroded cave just offshore, watching the color of the water change to a mysterious, evocative blue and meeting the friendly fish who swim up to divers looking for food. Beginner lessons and equipment rental give budding divers and snorkelers a good route into the popular pastimes, while an onsite restaurant and nearby beaches mean anyone not wanting to plunge into the sea will find plenty to occupy their time. • There’s a short footpath from the car park that takes you to a few scenic spots along the cape — just squeeze through the crowds of tourists on a snorkeling/diving tour. Very nice sea scenery against ...  more »
  • Cape Shineda is a great person on a diving tour snorkeling tour, so park your car in the parking lot (parking on the street is narrow and it's easy to report. The car that is sometimes parked on the road is the car of the person who comes to work in the field) It is a road in front of the pizzeria's Enzo which goes out to the shallow sea of the back Shinaeda cape when i walk down the road which continues to the sea of about five minutes and see various fish here and there. There are no toilets or showers here (there is a parking lot at Cape Shinaeda) Because there is little shade, drink and a little food towel awning (if you don't have an umbrella for hotel rental) you can see the beautiful sea from the top of the small cape.

  • If you're looking for a picnic spot in Maeda, this is the place! You can take the walking trail where the shower facilities are, there is a nice spot to watch sunset and have a picnic. It's a scenic place for a morning or evening walk but don't expect it to be spectacular. Its serenity is what makes it special. Not many tourists for sightseeing, but they're many divers from mainland Japan, Taiwan or Korea. It's one of the best diving spots in Japan. If you're diving, be cautious, it has had a number of fatalities recently. If you have small kids, do keep and eye on them as certain places near the cliffs do not have railings.
  • Beautiful place, take a walk around and enjoy the views. You can dive in there. If you go with kids be extremely careful, don't let them loose. The shower and restroom are not the best but you don't go there for them.
