Architecture enthusiasts will not want to miss Kibitsu Shrine, the sole example of Kibitsu-Zukuri style architecture. Observe the structure's unique gabled roof, huge wooden pillars, and ornate metal fixings. Take a walk along the 400 m (1,312 ft) covered corridor that traverses the grounds. Don't miss the cedar tree in the serene gardens, reputedly 1,000 years old. Kibitsu Shrine Reviews
特に本殿から回廊を巡... more »The main hall and the shrine are national treasures in The Ichinomiya Shrine in Bichina. It is adjacent to Kibitsuhiko Shrine, the first nomiya shrine in Bizen-kuni, and both of them are the life of Kibitsu. It is said that Kibitsuhiko life was sent from the imperial court to this place to subdue the Awara clan which ruled kibi district, and it is the under the legend of Momotaro. I don't know now whether the people of Okayama prefecture are descendants of the subjugated, descendants of the side that did, or those who are not involved. However, the building is dignified at any rate, and it is full of a sacred nature. Especially, the area around the corridor from the main hall is wonderful. May the worship benefit.
長い回廊にたくさんの個性的な分社ととても見応えのある神社でした。不便な場所にあるのに参拝客は大勢いました。 more »It was a shrine with a lot of unique branch ing and very impressive shrines in the long corridor. There were many worshippers in the inconvenient place.
Nice temple complex in a rural area. Not the most exciting place in Japan but more authentic than the bigger tourist destinations.
Good place to take a break on the Kibiji Cycle Trail. It’s a series of shrines and temples with beautiful timber walkways that link them together. Quiet and peaceful as the grounds are quite extensive. There is also a small series of shops at the base of the steps to the temple where you can get drinks and snacks.
