Walk across the impressive vermillion bridge to Nikko Futarasan jinja, a Shinto shrine that forms part of a wider World Heritage Site. Legend has it that a priest named Shodo was climbing the mountain in 766, but could not cross the river here. He prayed until a god with two snakes wrapped around his right arm appeared. The snakes unfurled to form a colorful bridge, allowing the priest and his followers to reach the other bank. Founded in 767, the shrine has become particularly well known for its two old swords, officially deemed National Treasures of Japan, along with several of its buildings and structures, including the bridge. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Nikko holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Nikko Futarasan jinja and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

It was my turn to visit him in the middle of the spring festival and I recognize that I catch the feast more than the details of the temple. The people and the allegorical chariots turned the temple into something alive.
Храм оказался прекрасен! Очень впечатлило! Посетили в начале мая. В октябре были в Тосегу, сравнивая, здесь тоже очень красиво. Будьте аккуратнее, в дождь ступени мокрые и скользкие, можно упасть. more »The temple turned out to be beautiful! Very impressive! Visited in early May. In October were in Tosegu, comparing, here too very beautiful. Be careful, in the rain steps are wet and slippery, you can fall.
Make sure you visit the Amazing botanical garden in front of the first building. It's amazing with beautiful greens all over the place. You can purchase a combined ticket for garden, and two other shrines. The one uphill has a wonderful natural trees and all kinds of beuties. Make sure you make it there.
Very cool aesthetic. Weather is high pleasing and comfortable. 10/10 would come again.
