Naruto Strait (鳴門海峡, Naruto-kaikyō) is a strait between Awaji Island and Shikoku in Japan. It connects Harima Nada, the eastern part of the Inland Sea and the Kii Channel. A famous feature of the strait is the Naruto whirlpools. Ōnaruto Bridge, the southern part of the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway, crosses over it.

  • Naruto strait is quite famous in Tokushima and connects to mainland. Their are lot of whirlpools which occur naturally depending on the tides and timing during the day. So make your you check the...  more »
  • We had a 10 minute wait and then boarded a motor launch. This then took about 15 minutes to get to the whirlpools. We then spent about 10 minutes going back and forth through the whirlpools followed.....  more »
