One of the largest complexes of its kind in the country, Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple represents one of the country's most important religious sites. • The Naritasan is a beautiful and big temple complex near Narita Station that's definitely worth seeing, but you'll want to choose the timing of your visit carefully. Since the Naritasan is one of...  more »

  • If you have a layover at Narita airport for more than 4 hours, I would highly recommend you stepping out and taking the tour of this beautiful shrine not too far away from the airport. A quick 20 min ride and some walk through this pretty area leads to you to this shrine. You get a glimpse of Japanese food, Eel is a specialty here, some crafts and so much more The shrine itself is set on beautiful grounds, almost Forest Lake area and pretty landscape. The structure is a wooden Pagoda and the minute you enter you feel meditative. I have not been to Japan so I felt that this was a great introduction to that amazing country
  • For somewhere so close to the airport this place sure is out of the way. And touristy. And expensive. ぜんざい for 750円? Really?? The temple itself is nice and expansive, but this place really is a tourist destination so I wouldn't lose sleep over giving it a miss. There are billions of nice temples in Japan for you to visit.
