more »It was a shopping street of the very crowded way which was a few tens of minutes away from Main Street on foot from Kyoto Station. The people who go there are full of international tourists, and it's a very lively alley. The appearance that the young and old man and woman buy the thing of the favor and request it might be able to be called the shopping war positively.
A fabulous mix of Japanese culture on a very small area. A very narrow covered street selling everything from "grilled sparrows on sticks" to delicate fans. Taste/eat everything on offer (may be not the sparrows .... )
Nishiki market is a good place to buy some souvenirs. There are lots of souvenir and craft stores, and street foods. It took about 2 hours from the start to the end of the market at a slow pace. Credit card are not allowed in most stores, so you'd better bring cash.
