  • This museum is located in the former foreign reservation of Minamiyamate. The building is the old Minamiyamate-oto-no-9 building, with two wooden floors and a western-style building with tiles. The museum costs 100 yen to enter the museum, and you can go up the stairs from the museum's grounds to glover garden.

  • I'm a Citizen of Nagasaki, but I don't know why this museum is here. I've never been there, and there are many people in my hometown who are similar to me. A major factor was the failure to make a solid vision and announcement before the opening. The remains of the former British Consulate in Oura Kaigan-dori were also used as the Children's Science Museum when I was in elementary school, and then as the Noguchi Yataro Museum of Art, but Nagasaki City is very poor at the mechanism around it. It is an administrative that cannot make use of it while having a lot of historical assets, and that is a problem. The building is from the old settlement period and has a taste.

  • Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00 Monday is generally closed, but open on public holidays. Closed on Mondays and New Year's holidays (12/29-1/3) Admission fee is 100 yen for general admission / 80 yen for groups Elementary and junior high school students 50 yen / Group 30 yen (if the group is 15 or more.) The Minamiyamate district, where the Nanzante Oto No. 9 Building is located, protects the townscape of the former foreign settlement that was held at the end of the Edo period. In July 1990, the Nagasaki City Preservation District for Preservation of Traditional Buildings was enacted. In April 1991, it was selected as an important preservation area for traditional buildings in japan. There are many Western-style buildings in the district, including Oura Cathedral, the former Glover House, and the Nagasaki Branch of the Former Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank. The museum is a two-story wooden Western-style house built in the mid-Meiji period called "Nanzan Teo-No. 9 Building" and is being used as the Suka Godo Museum of Art.
