Amanohashidate, Miyazu

4.3
Must see · Water Body · Scenic Walking Area
In a country of pristine natural beauty, Amanohashidate is widely considered one of Japan's most scenic attractions. Covered with over 7,000 pine trees, this sandbar stretches across the mouth of Miyazu Bay and creates a natural bridge linking the north and south sections of the city. Experience the spectacular scenery on foot, by bicycle, or from surrounding observation decks. Near the southern end, a Buddhist temple serves as a sanctuary and yet another viewpoint for appreciating the landscape. A chairlift on the northern side provides easy access to a viewing platform and cafe. For Amanohashidate and beyond, use our Miyazu trip builder to get the most from your Miyazu vacation.

  • It's a beautiful place to visit. You can walk, rent a bike or travel by boat to go to the other side where there's a cable car and lift chairs that take you to a viewing point and you can see a beautiful scenery. If you walk make sure to get some water before, it's 3km long. In the summer is really hot, so be prepared. You can swim after going to the viewing point. There's a little restaurant and bathrooms. There's also a coin locker area and showers.
  • Quite nice. The transportation here in the daytime is convenient, if you drive a car by yourself, it would be much better. If you like sea, sunshine and the blue sky, please come here to enjoy! In late May, it’s mildly warm and is quite suitable for walking along the beach. Our family members all like this beach very much! There are some Japanese restaurants, when you are hungry, choose any one of them should be fine. We chose a restaurant near the bridge which can be split into two parts.
