Tokyo Midtown, Minato

4.0
#8 of 248 in Shopping in Tokyo
Visit Tokyo Midtown, an upscale complex filled with shops, hotels, and fine dining options. The multibillion dollar project was completed in 2007 and includes Tokyo’s second tallest building, the Midtown Tower. Browse the stores of the stylish shopping mall in the Galleria building, check out the art museum, or visit one of the high-end restaurants in the tower for panoramic views of the city. You’ll be spoiled for choice of both Japanese and international cuisine featured in the area’s restaurants, while numerous gardens sprinkled around the complex provide a welcome refuge from the bustling city streets. • Lots of more high end stores and restaurants. There was an exhibition during our visit with fun and creative ideas.  more »
  • Here is seen from a variety of locations. If you enjoy the sound from outside near standing watching, go ahead, sit on a Chair in front of the road even better. You can also watch standing up from a Chair in a building, if not cold,. Weeknight is less person, so it is recommended.

  • Great location for shopping. A lot of nice stores, high end shopping stores are available. There is a food court in the lower floor. Outside you will find a park that has events on weekends.
  • High end shopping complex. You cam find the latest trendy goods and foods here. Nice place for family.
  • Awesome place to visit and eat and hang out. So many shops and restaurants. So clean and neat. We were there at night, so I don't know what's it like during the day. A nice little park right next to the building for a walk after your meal.
  • Integrated development in the heart of Roppongi to rival Roppongi Hills...great open areas complement a very well organised and structured layout of shops as compared to the Roppongi Hills development which can seem like a bit of a maze. Great retail and F&B and has the Ritz Carlton on site
  • Love this complex. Its really a small town within a city. There is a great selection of shops and restaurants. During Sakura or cherry blossom season, I would highly recommend visiting the park behind Midtown or get into any of the restaurants with terrace view of the park.

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
