Initia Japanese Cooking Class Reviews
Me and my girlfriend chose the teriyaki chicken and had a delicious meal! The chicken was soft and moist, the miso soup tasted fantastic, and best of all: we made it ourselves! (With the help of Taro ... more »
This was a lovely opportunity to learn to cook in a real Japanese home. Taro and his mother were very warm and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. more »
They welcomed us with hot tea and snacks. Also, they served us sweets after the class, so we went back to the hotel with full bellies. The interior of the house was beautiful, the Japanese ceramic dishes were so pretty. We were trying to find the store that sell those, so they shared some recommendation with us. They even emailed us the detail later on. There are many tips of cooking that we can apply to our daily cooking even if the dishes are not Japanese dishes. Overall, the class was very informative and a lot of fun. Thank you so much Taro and Miyoko. This experience became our highlight of our trip in Japan.
We almost always attend a cooking class when we travel overseas. The reason why we chose this cooking class in Japan is because the class size seemed the smallest and it’s owned by a family. It was much more than our expectation. It was a very hands-on experience with a home atmosphere. What I liked about their teaching style is that most ingredients are obtainable in most countries. Also, they make the recipe as simple as possible. Through the session, now I know why Japanese dishes taste very different from Western food. They explain why these ingredients are used, and how Japanese seasonings are made. I would recommend Initia Japanese Cooking Class to anyone who has passion of food.
